Saint Patrick students show their quality work at the 2014 History Day competition
Saint Patrick Catholic School had another successful History Day at the local District 6 Competition on Saturday, March 22. The annual contest features a different theme each year. This year’s theme was “Rights and Responsibilities”. 7th and 8th grade students were asked to review historical figures and issues that pertained to the category, and then present the information in a variety of formats, ranging from individual exhibits to group websites.
“Many, many of these projects are high quality work,” said Principal Hammond, “and provide children an understanding of (not only their content), but an understanding of intangibles such as research, time management, discipline and quality. Special thanks goes to History teachers Suzanne Walters and Jessica Davis for leading their young scholars to high achievement in their History Day projects.”
